Jeff Ooi has, finally, decided to stand up & be counted.
Jeff has decided to fight constitutionally by joining the DAP & most probably, be a DAP candidate for the coming elections.
Some naive folks had preferred Jeff to remain 'neutral' & 'independent' & not to have joined the DAP.
But Jeff had never been 'neutral' & 'independent' in the true sense of the word as since 2000, if I am not wrong, he had been a Gerakan member.
Are these folks who are against Jeff walking with the DAP saying that it's alright that Jeff stays 'neutral' even though he is(now was) a Gerakan member & it is not okay if he leaves one political party for another, which he believes might be a vehicle for him to voice out to make this a better Malaysia?
Some folks are also not happy, obviously, that Jeff has joined the DAP. Well, there are only 3 parties in the Opposition camp for Jeff to choose from, namely, the DAP, PKR & PAS. DAP is the only viable party.
Jeff, I have never agreed with all that you have written in your blog but I salute you for daring to stand up and be counted, something that not many folks like you would like to do as this put you at the firing line.
Jeff, you are not alone. I will stand and walk with you. I wish you all the best. I know for one thing that the path you have chosen is not for selfish ends, to contribute constitutionally to to make this country a better place to live in.
